水の濁り。

昨日朝起きていつものように顔を洗おうとすると、水が茶色くって匂いも泥臭く濁っているのです。もしかして、大雨のせいか？！と思いニュースをチェックしてみました。

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - The torrential downpours has led to a widespread boil water advisory for people across the Greater Vancouver area. Dr. Patricia Daly, Medical Health Officer with Vancouver Coastal Health, explains the boil water advisory. She says people should not be drinking water from their taps and rely on bottled water instead. If you do have to drink tap water boil it first.
The extremely high levels of turbidity in the water may cause stomach illnesses, but Daly says right now, increased testing has not found any contamination. The advisory is just a precaution.
This boil water advisory for the entire Greater Vancouver area means you should only use water from the tap after it's been boiled for at least a minute. Daly says this widespread warning is the first of its kind. This advisory may continue for more than a day.

昨日のNWES1130からの抜粋です。要訳すると、土砂降り雨のせいで水道水がかなり濁っている地域があり、その場合は飲まないようにとのこと。どうしてもその水を飲む場合は少なくとも1分以上沸騰させること。またこの状態が数日間続くかもしれない、ということでした。

バンクーバーでは大雨が続くと、時々このように水が濁ることがあるのですが、今回の濁り様には驚きです。どんなに人間が頑張っても、自然にはかなわないんだなぁ。。元通りになるまで、静かに待ちたいと思います。皆さんも濁りがなくなるまでは水道水を直接飲まないようにご注意下さいね 。

水道水を飲む場合は、しっかりと1分以上沸かしましょう。
